Children under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult during game drives. Children under 12 are permitted on safari at the sole discretion of the manager or guide. Children under 6 are not permitted on safari, and where possible, a kiddie’s safari will be arranged between normal safari times. Babysitting can be arranged at the lodge at an additional charge. : Children under the age of 12 years sharing with two adults pay 50% of the adult sharing rate per night. Beautiful manor house with lush gardens overlooking a water hole where you can just observe giraffes, impalas, and many other animals at anytime during the day. Among the best boutique hotels we’ve been, the personalized service and attention of the staff, especially Truth, Advice, Jabu & Raymond was incredible. All meals were wonderful and house wine selection“Tokara” was very nice. A small point of improvement, having a wine & cocktail menu would help know the full list of options and price range available. Leadwood suite was very spacious, comfortable, well appointed, and gave a real sense of place. WiFi was a bit patchy and there’s no TV in room but we were not there for that! We could hear the freight trains passing day and night but wasn’t a major distraction. This is perhaps the cost of convenience, the lodge is 10 min away from both the main town and airport of Hoedspruit - a plus for those with limited time. Cici at the spa took great care of us for massages and facial treatments. Beautiful secluded spot overlooking the Savanah and nice products. Game drives were exceptional, we saw cheetahs, elephants, rhinos, buffalos, lions.. it’s worth doing as many game drives you can with Khaya Ndlovu; Elsa, Harry and Terence were really good at replying to all our questions and explaining all aspects of the unique ecosystem. Point of improvement: external groups coming for game drives could be kept away from the pool and deck area - as their arrival/departure disrupted the tranquility and sense of privacy. We would certainly recommend to others and look forward to coming back!
