This is a medium price lodge which ticks all the boxes. It is small and intimate and is flexible. Being in the centre of Welgevonden allows for easy game drives in all directions. The food is always well prepared and the fresh biscuits on game drives are a highlight. This is my third visit.

We spent 4 days in the villa of the AM Lodge with a group of friends and it was just perfect. Thank you to everyone who made our stay so special. From the nice rooms taken care of by Terry, the friendly and very attentive service of Respond to the delicious meals created by our talented Chef Trevor, we enjoyed it very much! Special thanks go out to our guide Bompami and Origin, who took us to game drives twice a day and managed to show us so many animals 🦒🦓🦁🦛🦏 thanks also to Gustave who took us to Kruger 🐘🙂. We also enjoyed the treatments of the AM Spa Ladies and can highly recommend this Lodge!
This trip was nothing short of amazing. From the warm welcome we received from the staff, the attention to detail and their willingness to go the extra mile to ensure our stay was seamless, the chef’s meals! Everything was amazing. We had a wonderful time at this lodge and we WILL definitely be returning soon enough.

Stunning! Hard to rank what we loved best. Everything is top-notch. The location with the river front amazing and serene scenery, the spacious exquisitely decorated room, the food, the cruise(s). Last but definitely not least, the amazing Mukwa River Lodge team: Linda, the manager, and all the team members went out of their ways to make our stay memorable, and it will be. It was a special occasion for us, and we could not have chosen a better place to celebrate it. One of the best hotel stays we have experienced.
